About this project

The building's metal mesh cladding is made from aluminium AFR-LS29 mesh panels. Coco Architecture's choice of this original mesh allowed it to play with its relief and orientation to create this patchwork of interlocking metal mesh cassettes. Finally, the choice of a gold-tinted anodised surface treatment symbolises a stack of straw bales. The overall effect is perfectly in keeping with the site's activities, in its natural environment.

The modernity of the architecture, in a rural context, was unanimously praised.

‘Standing just a few metres from the RN 88 junction in the Issart area, the straw-coloured ‘barn’ made of metal mesh does not go unnoticed. And that's not by chance, as Anne Blanc, President of the Naucellois Community of Communes, who instigated the project, points out.

Terre Ségala, with its 400 m2 of floor space, will be ‘an emblematic point’ for local producers, who will have ‘a great showcase’ in which to display and sell their ‘home-made’ products. For the Le Prado bakery, which will keep its production in the village and move only the shop, and the Le Flambadou restaurant, which will offer a snack bar and bar, we have put in place a commercial lease,’ notes Anne Blanc. For the producers - customers will find vegetables, meat, cheeses, honey, cakes, leather goods, children's clothes, etc. - we are operating under a public service delegation agreement. We have also created a post and an employee will support the producers during the five days that the store is open, from Tuesday to Saturday. Finally, there will also be room for a tourist office branch.
