About this project

The need to clad the staircase leading to the terrace of the new town hall building in La Roche sur Yon was an opportunity for the architect to give the building a distinctive identity. He designed a diabolo-shaped metal structure clad in a mesh, preserving both natural lighting and ventilation. Afracom supported the project by contributing its technical skills for the 3D study and definition of the elementary cladding panels. As a result, we produced a set of structured panels respecting the specific curvature and contours. The AFR-LS29 MID crumpled mesh, chosen for its asymmetrical and textured configuration, treated with OX55 bronze anodising, gives the building an unexpected aesthetic character.
Special mention goes to the main contractor, OREAS, for its determination to bring this project to fruition, without compromising on the artistic dimension.
